Photo Shoot Info Guide

The following is a list of SUGGESTIONS only – each session is individual and it is important that you feel comfortable with your choice of clothes, so that the pictures reflect your lifestyle.

Clothing For Children
Please bring several different outfits with you, although we may only use 2 or 3 of them, the more choice the better.
Suggestions: Denim jeans/ dungarees etc; bright coloured clothes; pinafore dresses; long shorts; hats & headbands etc- in fact anything you think looks good on your children.
If a child has a favourite teddy you may want to include this in some of the pictures. The more old fashioned ones look better, and as we are intending to capture their childhood, their favourite toy will have a lot of sentimental value in the future- no matter how grubby and chewed it may seem now.

Babies and Toddlers
Please make sure that your appointment time is a good time for the children. If they are tired and hungry they will be very difficult to photograph. We will allow time for the children to settle in before the shoot begins. If necessary we can take a break in the middle of the shoot, so you might want to bring a cup of juice or a bottle of milk for them. You might also want to bring a change of nappy with you.

IMPORTANT: PLEASE DO NOT PUT TIGHT SOCKS AND SHOES OR HATS ON THE CHILDREN, AS THE MARKS THEY MAKE CAN TAKE A LONG TIME TO FADE. THE SAME APPLIES TO OLDER CHILDREN AND ADULTS WEARING BASEBALL CAPS.

Clothing For Adults
As with the children please feel free to bring a selection of outfits from which to choose. We may use only one or two but it is better to have a choice. Suggestions: Evening dress; jeans; black trousers; light coloured top; long sleeved shirt; casual jumper; shoes etc (this is not an essential list- it is only intended as a guideline).

Glasses
If you wear glasses – tinted or reactalite lenses can look very dark in photos. If you were able to bring a plain pair this would be beneficial.

Viewing The Pictures
After the session we will arrange a convenient time for you to view your pictures, this is usually 7 to 10 days later. The pictures will be presented in the form of a slide show, and you will have plenty of time to discuss your requirements. We have a selection of beautiful albums and frames – please do not hesitate to ask for advice on any aspect of presentation.

And Finally!
Please don’t worry that your child won’t smile or behave – we have endless patience with children. We want them to be natural and to enjoy the photo shoot, when children are enjoying themselves they always look good.
